Winter Solstice ❄️
Sweet Sunday and Happy Solstice 😌
Here we are, at the threshold of winter solstice! This marks the turning point where the light begins to slowly return, the daylight hours begin to ever so gradually lengthen (can you believe it?!)
A few themes that are resonant this time of year:
Natural Cycles — the imbalance of darkness to daylight at this time of year is a reminder to me during this season of hustle & bustle — to give myself permission to recalibrate and balance out the busy-ness with plenty of down-time and rest.
Stillness — The extra hours of darkness are an invitation to go inside (literally and figuratively ;) All around us, nature is still and resting, preparing for the onset of the next season of growth.
Hope — Sometimes the longer hours of darkness and grey winter days can feel heavy. Just knowing the daylight will begin to get incrementally longer, can give us a mental boost!
I’ve heard some people say they like to use the solstice as a way to symbolize a “reset” for them. This may be an opportunity to plant some seeds of intention for your next season of growth.
However you mark this turning point, may it offer you balance, rest, and a sense of hope.
