Both And

Happy Sunday!

I have been pondering lately the concept of how two things can seemingly be opposing concepts and both be relevant or valid at the same time. “Both and” is the opposite of “either or”. Here are some real-lifestyle examples:

• We can have both a successful career and a fulfilling personal life.

• You can have both structure and flexibility in your day.

• I can both aspire to do great things and be open to my vulnerabilities and mistakes along the way.

• I can both take care of yourself and be productive.

• We can have both our cake and eat it too 🧁😋

The human brain likes to categorize things and put them in tidy little boxes. Sometimes it can feel like we have to choose one thing (concept, idea, behavior, feeling) over another.

As you head into the new year, I invite you to envision and feel how this concept can play out in your year and into your life. In what areas of your life can you embrace the “both and” mindset and integrate it holistically into your daily life?

A vision board is a visual representation of your goals, dreams, intentions and aspirations. It is meant to be a motivating, inspiring, and compelling roadmap for your year that lies ahead. It is both a tool for dreaming big and a tool for keeping you grounded and focused in your present actions. When you establish your wellness vision, you are setting the stage for what is possible.
